Memorial Day is a time to remember and give thanks to those in the military who lost their lives serving our country.  We thought we would do a bit of research on horses who went to war.

DIY Dreamcatchers

We Love Lonesome Dove Bistro

When we find a restaurant that we really like, we tend to dine there as frequently as possible. We’ve been known to sit around the conference room table thinking of reasons to visit Fort Worth just so we can eat at Blue Mesa Grill.

Our new favorite (in rotation twice this week) is Chef Tim Love’s Lonesome Dove Bistro in the historic Stockyards of Fort Worth.

Silly state laws involving horses

In a day and age where there are laws upon laws in this country and huge gaps in the law where there should be some regulation, we thought it would be entertaining to poke a little fun at our government and compile a list of silly laws that might actually affect horse lovers or would have 100 years ago.  These are actual laws that are STILL on the government books in our country…FYI – Oklahoma takes the cake on this one!

So a while back Hair Blow Out Bars were popping up all over Southern California.  No cuts….No color….just a shampoo and blowdry.  Keeping with the ‘bar’ theme they had kitchy names for each style.  Names like the Manhattan-which is sleek and smooth, Southern Comfort-big hair, lots of volume, Mai Tai-messy beach hair and so on.

Now that has become old news in La La Land and the new twisted trend is the Braid Bar.

Travel to horse shows in style

As the year begins, we start to plan for the 2012 show season — sending in our entry fees, scheduling in a few extra lessons and making our travel arrangements.  Often times when the alarm goes off a o’dark thirty on the morning of a horse show I ponder to myself that if I was staying in an RV on the show grounds I could get at least 15 minutes more sleep.  Sounds rational, right?  Well….if you are one of the lucky one that is in the market for an RV, I suggest you watch a few shows on HGTV as market research.
