Black Tie Sidekick
It was rumored that our second favorite Jack Russell Terrier, Uggie, (don’t worry Dutch, you are still #1) was going to make an appearance at the Oscars Sunday night. If you are unfamiliar with Uggie, he is the scene-stealing dog from The Artist.
Not only did he attend the black tie event, but according to Us Weekly, he was doning an 18-carat gold and satin custom-made Chopard bowtie embellished with gold dog bone charm inscribed with his name.
“I want to thank Uggie, the dog. I think he doesn’t care. I’m not sure he understands what I say,” Michel Hazanavicius said while accepting his Best Director Oscar, according to The Washington Post. “He’s not that good, but thank you.”
If you missed Uggie’s appearance on stage at the Oscars with best actor winner, Jean Dujardin, pictured above, I’m afraid you won’t get to see him in anything new. The Academy Awards were his last big event as he is retiring from film due to a neurologic disorder.
