Peppermint for horses

by DePaolo Equine Concepts

Peppermint is one of the oldest herbs known to be used by man.  The dried and sifted leaves are a great digestive aid as well as having antimocrobial and antifungal properties.  It is the oil in the peppermint leaves that is effective in relaxing and soothing the digestive system while helping to eliminate gas.  Externally peppermint is a great anticeptic and insect repellent.  We also hear that it is a good natural mouse repellent.

ExcelNaturally, we add peppermint leaves to our daily digestive supplement, Excel.  The key ingredients promote overall digestive health and help to reduce the negative side effects of gastric upset. Excel helps to soothe the entire digestive system (esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines and the colon), which aides in lessening the discomforts of digestive issues.
