Don’t let slippery elm get away!

by DePaolo Equine Concepts

This week’s ingredient spotlight is on slippery elm bark powder.  This mucilaginous herb is great for digestive upset.  The inner bark of the red elm tree is removed, dried and powdered and then added to our daily digestive supplement, Excel.

The slippery elm bark powder resists breakdown from stomach acids and enzymes so it maintains a soothing action throughout the entire digestive tract.  In addition, it help regulate bacteria in the intestine and enhances good gut flora.
